JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria responded to the immoral act allegedly committed by an LGBT couple at the Wow cafe, Pancoran, South Jakarta. Riza admitted that Jakarta as the capital city is a big city with various community backgrounds.
"Indeed, Jakarta is indeed a big city, a very plural and heterogeneous city. In Jakarta, all residents gather from Sabang to Merauke, almost all ethnic groups in the world may be in Jakarta," Riza told reporters, Tuesday, June 7 evening.
Even so, Riza did not justify the behavior of the LGBT couple. "However, an incident like this is something we didn't expect," he added.
To prevent similar incidents from happening again, the former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives asked the public to help the authorities in reporting other incidents deemed to have violated immoral norms.
"To protect Jakarta, its environment, so that it can be cleaned and put in order, please the public report to us and we will follow up. Of course we have a limited number of officers and so on," he said.
For information, a viral video on social media showing the immoral acts of same-sex or LGBT couples at the Wow Cafe. Residents who knew about the activity immediately burrowed into the Wow Cafe.
Pancoran police chief Kompol Rudi said the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 31, at 21:55 WIB. He also explained that the chronology of the incident began with a report by a person with the initials PH related to an alleged immoral act, LGBT at the Wow Cafe.
At that time, SE as the cafe service saw EV and his colleagues perform immoral acts in public, such as kissing a man on the right side of the neck. Then report to the reporter, PH.
"At that time the man who was kissed by EV was in EV's lap. The Reporting Party immediately approached the perpetrator and his partner gave a warning to the perpetrator and his partner," he explained.
After being reprimanded by the reporter, EV and his partner left the Wow Cafe at 23.30 WIB. Then PH reported the incident to the Pancoran Police.
The police immediately checked at the crime scene (TKP), then examined three Wow Cafe employees. The 3 people had the initials YP, FB and PH.
Not only that, the police also summoned the parents of the perpetrators. In order to provide an appeal and an agreement not to repeat similar actions.
"Cafe owners are asked to make a statement and an appeal regarding immoral acts and other crimes, as well as narcotics." he said.
It should be noted, previously in the same location, a similar problem occurred. A group of scantily clad men suspected of being gay or LGBT people were dancing along to music at the Wow Cafe. The action was caught on an amateur video which eventually went viral on social media.
