Already Announced Plans To Leave Gerindra, Taufik Was Even First Fired By The Party
JAKARTA - A new member of the Jakarta DPRD received shocking news from the Gerindra Party faction, Mohamad Taufik, yesterday. Already planning to leave the Gerindra Party, Taufik was fired by the Gerindra Party Honorary Council.
On Thursday, June 2, Taufik confirmed that he plans to leave the Gerindra Party and wants to move to the NasDem Party. The plan to move the party was revealed after he was removed from the position of Deputy Chair of the DKI Jakarta DPRD by the Gerindra Party DPP and replaced by Rani Mauliani.
"Changing parties is a normal thing too. Don't think too much about it. God willing (moving to Nasdem)," said Taufik when met at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Thursday, June 2.
The deputy chairman of the DKI DPRD from 2014 to 2022 admitted that one of the reasons he wanted to leave the Gerindra Party was because he no longer felt comfortable.
"One of them is because it is uncomfortable. We need comfort in a party. If you are not comfortable in a house, there are only two choices. Stay still or leave the house," he said.
However, at that time, Taufik admitted that he had not reported his planned resignation to Gerindra General Chair Prabowo Subianto. Until Tuesday, June 7, the Party Honorary Council officially dismissed M Taufik as a cadre of the Gerindra Party. The dismissal was the result of the Gerindra MKP trial which was held today.
The chairperson of the trial, Wihadi Wiyanto, explained that this dismissal was the legal stance of the Gerindra Party Honorary Council towards M Taufik, not only because of his actions and statements in the national news media which were busy in recent days.
It's a fairly long series of processes from the accumulation of mistakes and violations that have been carried out by Taufik as a cadre of the Gerindra Party, starting from the 2019 presidential election.
"M Taufik as a cadre of the Gerindra Party and in his position as a leadership element in the management of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra DPD, as well as at the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the Gerindra faction in fact has failed to carry out the party's mandate related to the loss of votes for the Prabowo-Sandi pair in DKI Jakarta in the 2019 Presidential Election. ," said Wihadi while reading the results of the Gerindra MKP trial at the Gerindra Party DPP Office, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 7.
Then, continued Wihadi, M Taufik is often mentioned in corruption cases (Tipikor) within the DKI government. In addition, until now the Gerindra DPD DKI Jakarta does not yet have a permanent office like the Gerindra Party DPD DPDs in other areas.
"In fact, DKI Jakarta is the main barometer for the Gerindra Party," said Wihadi.
Wihadi said that during the examination under oath at the trial by the assembly regarding the violations committed, M Taufik had given convoluted information.
"Then at this point in fact it has been proven, that everything he said at the previous examination was not true and was a lie," he said.
Regarding the violation of AD/ART, Wihadi said, Taufik has also been proven to have committed acts that are contrary to and not in line with the direction of the Gerindra Party's policy. That is, he has violated his oath as a Gerindra Party cadre who decided to submit and obey the party's ideology and discipline and to maintain the honor, dignity and cohesiveness of the party.
It's not harmonious
The disharmony between Taufik and Gerindra began to be seen since Taufik, who openly prayed for the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan as President. Taufik's support for Anies was expressed at the inauguration ceremony of the KAHMI Jaya Regional Council for the 2022-2027 period several months ago.
In fact, Gerindra has also announced that its party will again nominate its general chairman, Prabowo Subianto, to become a presidential candidate in the 2024 election. As a result, the Party Honorary Council summoned Taufik.
"I was once called by the Party's Honorary Council when I prayed for Anies to upgrade from Governor to President," he said.
However, Taufik emphasized that his statement at that time was not a party cadre. "At that time, my position was the chairman of KAHMI Jaya. It was only natural that I prayed for the members to go to class. So, I was called upon. I didn't know it was linked and then I was fired. Never mind. For me there is no problem," explained Taufik.
Since then, Taufik began to feel uncomfortable being in the party bearing the garuda symbol. Likewise with the Gerindra Party DPP, Desmond J. Mahendra, who is grateful that Taufik left Gerindra.
"We are grateful. We are grateful that he moved so that NasDem knows how Taufik is," said Desmond when met by VOI at the DPR Building, Thursday, June 2.
Desmond also advised NasDem not to see the former deputy chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD as an extraordinary figure. Because in Gerindra, said Desmond, Taufik is very ordinary.
"Don't look at extraordinary taufik, for us it's just ordinary," said Desmond.
