Ahead Of The Indonesia Vs Kuwait National Team, PSSI Chairman: Don't Be Subdued Without A Fight
JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will face Kuwait in the inaugural match of the 2023 Asian Cup qualification. The Group A match will be held at the Jaber Al Ahmad Stadium, Wednesday, June 8, at 23.15 WIB.
Indonesia has met Kuwait six times since 1980. As a result, Indonesia won once, lost twice and the other three matches ended in a draw.
This match is clearly a tough test for Shin Tae-yong's team. Kuwait, which is the host, is the seed. However, the general chairman of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan hopes that the Indonesian national team will not just give up.
"Even though it's tough, it's not impossible. Give your best, with a game that's fun to watch," said Iriawan, as quoted by Antara.
"If you lose, don't give in without a fight. We have to really attack," he continued.
The coach of the Indonesian national team, Shin Tae-yong, admitted that he was not afraid to face Kuwait. He said his foster children would show their true strength.
"We will show our strength and position in this qualifier," he said.
The chairman of PSSI said the weather was an obstacle for the Indonesian national team in preparing for this match. Hot weather in Kuwait reaches 42-47 degrees Celsius.
"At night, the temperature only drops by 25-30 degrees Celsius," he said.
However, the man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule said the players were still ready to fight. The Indonesian national team will go all out to win.
