It's Been A Year Since Floyd Mayweather Vs Logan Paul, Why Hasn't The YouTuber Been Paid Yet?
JAKARTA - Logan Paul has expressed his frustration on several occasions about the fact that he has not been paid in full for his exhibition fight against Floyd Mayweather.
The fight took place exactly one year ago, on June 6, 2021, but Paul is adamant that he hasn't received the money he should have received after eight full rounds against Mayweather.
"It's a shame because this is Floyd 'Money' Mayweather," Paul told DAZN in March.
"Surely I'll get my check pretty quickly, won't I? I'm sure it will come eventually, right? Then I realized 'Okay, I'm hanged'.
"It's the classic 'Hey, buddy, you're new to the industry, we'll mastermind you however we want with your money, so step up and shut up'.
"But, instead of keeping my mouth shut, I made fun of him on social media and told everyone he had no money.
"I was kind of kidding. I was joking, and I was blaming Floyd. But I don't know if it was his fault. Maybe at least (his fault), right?
"But something tells me that Floyd doesn't control where the money goes. Or maybe he did and he's an asshole."
Back in May, Logan threatened to take the case to court.
"No, he hasn't paid me in full, that's a fact because he's short on cash," Logan told TMZ.
"We're going to take this case to court. See you in the courtroom. Congratulations on your jail time, Floyd."
Meanwhile, Mayweather explained in February the reasons why Logan had not been paid in full. He emphasized that this would be his biggest payday for Logan.
"To them, it's real money, and I love YouTubers," Mayweather told The Pivot Podcast.
"However, the money from pay-per-view, it takes time (to disburse).
"Nothing comes quickly. I'm still collecting checks from fights seven or eight years ago.
"They just hate it when things turn around. Be happy with the biggest paycheck you'll ever get in your life."
