SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo opened complaint posts spread throughout the region in order to accelerate the handling of mouth and nail disease (PMK) outbreaks in resident's livestock.
"Several efforts have been made as a quick response to the PMK outbreak, one of which is establishing command posts spread throughout the region. According to him, this is part of the implementation of the Livestock Jogo Movement to assist farmers and livestock affected by FMD.
Based on the latest data from the Livestock and Animal Health Service of Central Java Province, there were a total of 8,286,534 livestock valued at Rp.43,749 trillion, and of this number, 264 cattle were positive for PMK.
Treatment continues to be carried out on 8,246 livestock suspected of FMD and several efforts are made as a step to quickly handle the FMD outbreak.
"These cattle are suspected to be suspected from several areas, we also communicate with East Java, we also see data in Aceh, in NTB it turns out to be high and our position is below 10 thousand, yes, there are 8 thousand," he said.
The number one person in Central Java also cooperated with the police and the Food Task Force to regulate the traffic of livestock between regions in the hope of controlling movement and suppressing the spread of the FMD outbreak.
"Later, there will be a community that we call bolo livestock so that they can all accompany them and I ask for cooperation with universities and communities to help the movement," he said.
Apart from these efforts, Ganjar appealed to all regions to be disciplined in reporting the development of their PMK conditions, even a circular letter to regional heads is also being prepared regarding the supervision of the animal market.
"Now we ask for a report and we send a team, we give medicine and disinfectant. We try to regulate the traffic, so we are preparing medicine, the vaccine may be in the middle of this month from the ministry, and we have reported several times to the Minister and fully support for that," he said.
Previously, the Central Java Provincial Government also assisted in the handling and treatment of livestock detected by PKM belonging to the breeders until they were declared healthy again.
In addition, the Central Java Provincial Government through the Central Java Provincial Health and Human Services Office also continues to provide assistance to farmers because farmers now understand how to handle when their animals are sick.
