Meta Brings New Features To Reels Instagram And Facebook To Move TikTok Market
JAKARTA - Today Meta is launching a number of improvements and new features for Instagram and Facebook Reels. Seeing that its competitors like TikTok are getting bigger, Meta doesn't want to be left behind.
Now, Meta is bringing Instagram Stories features to Reels which include Poll, Quiz, and Emoji slider stickers. However, with these two features in Stories and Reels, users may find it boring.
Another from Reels, Meta is rolling out the ability to import users' own audio, where users can add comments or background sound from any video that's at least five seconds long stored in their gallery.
Apart from that Meta also introduces Templates, users can create Reels using the same video structure as they are watching. This capability was seen in testing last April and is somewhat similar to TikTok's template options, being a much simpler way to get started with video creation.
However, with Reels Templates, users can drag audio sequences and clips. This helps them to recreate more complex formats by simply adding their own content and trimming their clips.
Not only Reels on Instagram that gets a number of improvements, and new features, Facebook Reels is also not left behind this time.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
First Meta launches Sound Sync, a tool that will automatically sync a user's video clips to their favorite tracks. Syncing video to sound has become a hallmark of TikTok, and this technology has been developed by Meta over the years with further creative music-related effects, such as visualization, animation, and interactivity.
Facebook Reels users will also be able to add voiceovers to their videos, which is already common on TikTok. Some of the other features are aimed at attracting more professional content creators, such as a desktop-based video clipping tool that will make it easier for them to publish long videos, recordings, or live to test other formats, such as Reels.
In fact, users can turn their content into Facebook Reels using Creator Studio. Meanwhile, video game creators will get a tool that will allow them to generate short-form vertical Reels straight from their Live content, with dual views for gameplay and creator cameras.
Further, users can now create, edit and schedule their Facebook Reels from the desktop. Facebook will also be pushing suggested Reels in its Feeds globally, as well as in Watch and Groups, in an effort to increase discovery and help content creators get a wider reach.
It also reminds users that Reels are prioritized and ranked based on whether they show original content or not. This is quoted from TechCrunch, Friday, June 3.
