Construction Of Duplicated Nilo Bridge In Riau Increases Connectivity
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said the construction of a duplication of the Nilo River Bridge in Pelalawan, Riau, will improve connectivity and facilitate logistics on the Riau Province East Cross Road which is connected to Jambi Province.
"The construction of bridge infrastructure, flyovers and underpasses will improve inter-regional connectivity, as well as provide an alternative for residents to increase economic productivity," Basuki said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 2.
The Ministry of PUPR has completed the duplication of the Nilo River Bridge.
The duplication of the Nilo Bridge was built right next to the main bridge.
Basuki hopes that with smooth inter-regional connectivity for the flow of goods, services, and people, the region's economic growth will increase.
Meanwhile, Head of the Riau National Road Implementation Center (BPJN) T Yuliansyah said the duplication of the Nilo Bridge was carried out to connect the National Road section across the Lago area to Sorek.
According to him, the Nilo Bridge is a vital infrastructure for the people in Pelalawan Regency.
"We really need to carry out this duplication construction of the Nilo River Bridge in order to avoid a disaster or potential disaster, because it cannot accommodate the tonnage of vehicles that pass through the old bridge. Considering that the old bridge is old, which is 40 years old," said Yuliansyah.
The duplication of the Nilo Bridge with a length of 300 meters and an approach bridge with a length of 275 meters, and a width of nine meters, with a steel frame bridge type A60 are located at KM 85 + 000 Jalan Lintas Timur (Jalintim) Riau in Pelalawan Regency.
The bridge construction was carried out by contractors PT Spirit Hasrat Jaya-PT Tata Inti Sepakat (KSO) and PT Dhanesmantara Consultant-PT Epadascon Permata-PT Raissa Gemilang, KSO as the Supervising Consultant.
The construction of the Nilo bridge is next to the old bridge, which was funded by State Sharia Securities (SBSN) with a budget of Rp. 98.6 billion.
