Miguel Oliveira Opens The Exit Door Of KTM, Doesn't Want To Accept Positions In The Satellite Team
JAKARTA - KTM has recently been linked with a number of riders for positions in the 2023 MotoGP. There are Jack Miller, Alex Rins and Pol Espargaro.
In fact, KTM boss Pit Beirer openly admitted that he had spoken to the three riders. Incidentally, all three are in an "available" position because their contracts will expire at the end of the season.
This news makes Miguel Oliveira's future at KTM begin to be questioned. The Portuguese rider is rumored to be losing his place at the Austrian manufacturer.
Miguel Oliveira's performance has also recently been in the spotlight. This season, the rider has only been on the podium once, namely when he won the Mandalika MotoGP.
Of the eight races, only three times did he finish in the top 10. In fact, two races failed to finish. At the Italian MotoGP at the Mugello Circuit, last weekend, Oliveira finished in ninth position.
While his teammate, Brad Binder performed better. In the eight races that have been undertaken, Binder has only twice failed to penetrate the top 10 positions.
Most recently, he finished fourth in the Italian MotoGP race at the Mugello Circuit.
Rumors, KTM will keep Brad Binder for next season. While Miguel Oliveira will be given a chance, but in the KTM satellite team, Tech3.
Unfortunately, Oliveira emphatically rejected the discourse. He decided it was better to leave than to go down to the Tech3 team.
"I told management that I did not accept a place at Tech3 and wanted a factory seat. This is not possible, I will consider other options," he said, as reported by the official MotoGP website.
When asked again about the possibility of racing for Tech3 next season, Miguel Oliveira replied, "Definitely not. There is still some work available, don't worry."
