Indofood CBP, Owned By Conglomerate Anthony Salim, Successfully Sells Indomie, Supermi, Sarimi, Pop Mie IDR 12.25 Trillion In Just 3 Months
JAKARTA - A consumer company owned by conglomerate Anthony Salim, PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) recorded a brilliant financial performance during the first quarter of 2022. The company's sales and net profit were able to increase in the first three months of this year.
ICBP recorded a consolidated net sales growth of 14 percent to IDR 17.19 trillion in the first quarter of 2022 from IDR 15.09 trillion in the same period last year.
As for by segment, sales of instant noodles (Indomie, Supermi, Sarimi, Pop Mie, Sakura, Mi Egg 3 Chicken) reached IDR 12.25 trillion, dairy products IDR 2.77 trillion, snacks IDR 1.01 trillion, food seasonings IDR 991.03 billion, nutrition and special food IDR 316.62 billion, drinks IDR 368.58 billion as of March 31, 2021.
Although operating profit fell 7 percent to IDR 3.53 trillion from IDR 3.82 trillion due to rising prices of various commodities, ICBP still posted a healthy operating profit margin of 20.6 percent in the first quarter of 2022 compared to 25.3 percent in the first quarter of 2021.
The company also managed to keep recording bottom-line growth. Profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent company increased by around 12 percent to IDR 1.94 trillion for 3 months 2022 from IDR 1.74 trillion in the first quarter of last year.
President Director and Chief Executive Officer of Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Anthony Salim said the company's performance was still able to grow amidst pressure from rising raw material prices.

"Although faced with various challenges related to rising raw material prices as a result of the global economic situation, ICBP started 2022 with a positive performance," he explained in a written statement, quoted on Wednesday 1 June.
Anthony Salim said, in line with efforts to deal with the dynamics of the current economic and geopolitical conditions, ICBP prioritizes continuing to provide good performance this year. It will maintain a balance between sales volume growth and profitability as well as a healthy financial position.
