AGO Estimates Losses In PT Waskita Case To Reach IDR 1.2 Trillion
JAKARTA - The Investigating Prosecutor's Team of the Directorate of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes estimates that the state's financial loss in the alleged corruption case of PT Waskita reaches IDR 1.2 trillion and has officially raised the status of the handling to an investigation.
"In this case, based on preliminary calculations by the Investigating Prosecutor's Team, it resulted in state financial losses of approximately IDR 1.2 trillion", said Head of the Attorney General's Office for Legal Information Center, Ketut Sumedana, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 31.
Sumedana also said that the status of handling cases of alleged corruption crimes and/or misappropriation in the use of PT Waskita Beton Precast's funds from 2016 to 2020 was raised to the stage of investigation by the Investigating Team.
The increase in status was inaugurated through the issuance of an Investigation Order for the Director of Investigation of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes Number: Print-24/F.2/Fd.2/05/2022 dated 17 May 2022.
There were also several irregularities in the implementation of the use of funds by PT Waskita, which occurred in the Kriyan Legundi Bunder and Manyar (KLBM) toll road construction project, the work to produce Tetrapods from PT Semutama, the procurement of split stones with the provider PT Misi Mulia Metrical (PT MMM), and procurement of sand by partners on behalf of PT Mitra Usaha Rakyat or PT MUR.

In addition, Ketut Sumedana also said that there were problems with the sale and purchase of land for the Bojonegara Plant, Serang, Banten.
As of Monday, May 30, 2022, the Investigating Prosecutor's Team has examined 17 witnesses related to this case. The Investigating Prosecutors Team also conducted searches in 3 locations, namely the Head Office of PT Waskita Beton Precast, Tbk on Wednesday, May 18, as well as the Karawang Plant in Karawang and the Bojonegara Plant in Serang on Thursday, May 19.
“Based on the results of the search, the Investigating Prosecutor's Team has confiscated documents in the form of documents and has also examined 17 people. 17 witnesses, yes", said Sumedana.
