BPBD Volunteers In 28 Lebak Sub-districts Are Asked To Start Beware Of Bad Weather
BANTEN - Head of the Emergency and Logistics Section of BPBD Lebak Regency, Banten Province, asked local BPBD volunteers to monitor bad weather marked by heavy rain, lightning accompanied by strong winds. "We ask volunteers to optimize monitoring regarding the bad weather that hit this area," Agus said in Lebak, Monday, May 30. He also asked the people of Lebak to increase their awareness of bad weather in the next few days starting on Monday, May 30.
It will start to rain in Lebak, with a high chance of rain at night. Therefore, Agus asked BPBD volunteers in 28 sub-districts to increase vigilance against the bad weather. In addition, volunteers were asked to visit locations prone to natural disasters to provide rescue education to the community. At a minimum, he said, people could save themselves from the threat of the disaster. In this case, bad weather can result in flooding, moving ground, hurricanes, fallen trees, and landslides.
"We believe that with vigilance the volunteers can reduce the risk of disaster and not cause casualties," he explained. According to him, BPBD volunteers at the sub-district level always coordinate with the camat, village and local community officials.
If a natural disaster occurs due to bad weather, then immediately report it to the Lebak Regency BPBD for immediate follow-up so as not to cause many casualties. The Lebak BPBD is now preparing evacuation equipment to rescue residents affected by natural disasters. and cars, rubber boats, mines, sensors or chainsaws, life jackets, divers' clothes, and tents for evacuation. In addition, logistics for basic materials, side dishes, various dry foods, packaged drinks, public kitchen vehicles and medicines are also provided. "We guarantee the availability of sufficient logistics for the next six months," he said.
