10th Place Finish In Italian MotoGP, Marc Marquez: I Got A Warning And Gave Up

JAKARTA - Repsol Honda racer, Marc Marquez, again got unsatisfactory results in the 2022 MotoGP. He was only able to finish in 10th position in the Italian MotoGP race at the Mugello Circuit, Sunday, May 29.

According to Marc Marquez, this weekend's race is very demanding. Not only physically, but also mentally.

The Spaniard admitted that it was difficult to maintain concentration. Especially after Marc Marquez knew he would end the season early because he had to undergo surgery.

"I received the news (about the operation) on Friday, but if I had received the news on Wednesday or Thursday, I would not have raced here. However, I am finally here, Honda allowed me to choose and I decided to continue the weekend. ," said Marquez as reported by Crash.

"I said, 'OK, I will continue racing. I will take a risk, because you are driving 350 km per hour. But I will work for (Honda and the team) to give my input for the future," he continued.

The holder of six MotoGP world titles admits the race at the Mugello Circuit is a difficult race. He only enjoyed 6-7 laps at the start.

"I made a good start and I saw the front group. And I can ride more or less at the same speed. But then I got one warning and I gave up," he said.

"Today it was important not to make things crazy. In the end I didn't try to attack Miguel Oliveira, just finished the race."

Marquez later said that the decision to return to surgery was an easy decision. According to him, this is the best decision because he no longer wants to race like he is now.

"This operation and everything can happen. You never know. However, this is the right decision because I can't continue racing like this," said Marc Marquez.
