West Jakarta Police Arrest Drug Dealers With Evidence Worth IDR 2.8 Billion

JAKARTA - The West Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Unit has again arrested a methamphetamine dealer with the initials APW (24) in the Permata Complex or Ambon Village, Cengkareng, West Jakarta. This area is known as a haven for drug users and dealers.

From the arrest, the police confiscated 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine from the suspect's hands.

"Based on the results of the disclosure, we will then develop the network above it," said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pasma Royce to reporters, Friday, May 27.

The development leads to the Kemayoran area, Central Jakarta. From the suspect APW, the police again arrested the suspect with the initials MF (26) on Jalan Tembaga Raya Dalam 3, RT 06/04, Harapan Mulya Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta, last Saturday, May 21.

After a search, the police found 10.68 grams of methamphetamine in a shampoo packet of mild shampoo and 4 rolls of marijuana weighing 3.31 grams which were stored in his green citizen sling bag.

"The team interrogated the perpetrators and admitted that they still had other evidence in the perpetrator's boarding house," he explained.

Next, the team headed to a boarding house on Jalan Ciliwung, RT 10/06, Cililitan Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta.

Here, the police confiscated 1,500 grams of methamphetamine, 9 packages of crystal methamphetamine containing 916.31 grams and 1 package containing 69 grams of marijuana.

"Two records of the sale of methamphetamine and digital weighing equipment were also confiscated from the suspect's boarding house. This is the result of the development of the arrest of a drug ring in the jewel complex," he said.

Kombes Pasma said the total evidence seized was 2.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 72.31 grams of marijuana with a value of Rp. 2.8 billion.

The two perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 of UURI No. 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a penalty of 20 years in prison.
