Indonesia Offers IKN Development Project At WEF 2022
JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia said the Nusantara Capital State (IKN) development project was also discussed and offered by the government at the 2022 World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
"IKN is one that we talk about (at WEF). With several investors, we have talked about IKN. And we must realize IKN and we must ensure what President Jokowi has ordered and planned," Bahlil Lahadalia said at a press conference at WEF Davos, Switzerland reported by Antara, Thursday, May 24.
Although he has met and discussed opportunities related to IKN, Bahlil admitted that until now there has been no investment agreement. However, he confirmed the interest of the businessmen at the meeting regarding the development of the Nusantara IKN.
"If you ask if there is interest? There is interest. But the execution has not yet been carried out at the WEF," said Bahlil Lahadalia.
Bahlil explained that the WEF 2022 event was an event to promote various state interests and information about Indonesia to the World Economic Forum.

Moreover, the momentum of WEF 2022 this time coincides with the Indonesian Presidency at this year's G20. Indonesia also did not miss the opportunity to explain to the world the success of controlling the pandemic, economic revival and environmentally friendly investment policies.
"The theme (G20) is rising together, recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. This is our momentum to explain to the global how Indonesia controls the pandemic, how is economic growth, then how is the strategic direction for environmentally friendly investment policies and green energy. What are the concrete steps and what kind of collaboration?" he said.
Because the focus is on promoting the interests of the nation, Bahlil said the investment agreement will later become fruit if there is a match that is established in the forum.
"If there is something suitable for us to build a new business, we will take it home," he said.
