The Inauguration Of The Accelerated OJK Board Of Commissioners Is Officially Postponed By The Supreme Court, Why Is This?

JAKARTA - The plan for the inauguration of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners for the 2022-2027 period, which was originally scheduled to be held today, has been officially postponed by the Supreme Court. This assurance was conveyed directly by an internal VOI source at OJK.

"It has been postponed by the Supreme Court," he said when contacted on Tuesday, May 24.

As for regulations, the appointment and active approval of the OJK Board of Commissioners is carried out by the Supreme Court. The reason is that OJK is an independent institution that is separate from the government and Bank Indonesia with the main task of being a regulator of the financial services sector and protecting consumers in this industry.

Furthermore, the OJK itself has not been able to confirm when the planned inauguration will take place considering the 'ball' is currently in the Supreme Court.

"I don't know how long it will be postponed, it just depends on the MA. Maybe you can ask the Supreme Court directly,” said information from an editorial source at OJK.

To note, the current management structure of the Financial Services Authority is led by Wimboh Santoso as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.

In the previous regulation, Wimboh Cs' term of office was scheduled to be completed in July 2022. However, until this news was published there was no clarity regarding the reasons for the acceleration of the inauguration of the OJK Board of Commissioners in May 2022.
