Alleged Corruption Of Village Funds More Than Rp713 Million, Sukabumi Kabandungan Mayor Detained For 20 Days In Prison

SUKABUMI - The Special Criminal Section of the Sukabumi District Attorney's Office (Kejari) has officially detained the Head of Kabandungan Village, Kabandungan District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, with the initials AS today. AS is suspected of corruption in village funds (DD) and village fund allocations (ADD).

"Based on the results of the investigation conducted by the Investigation Team for the Special Investigations Section of the Sukabumi District Attorney's Office, the suspect AS is strongly suspected of having misappropriated the DD and ADD for the 2019-2020 fiscal year," said Sukabumi District Attorney General Bambang Yunianto in Sukabumi, Antara, Monday, 23 May.

Meanwhile, the Head of Special Unit for the Prosecutor's Office of Sukabumi Regency, Ratno Timur Habeahan Pasaribu, added that the disclosure of the alleged corruption case by the Kabandungan Village Head who was still active was based on the Inspectorate Report (LHP) of the Sukabumi Regency Inspectorate.

From the results of the examination, the suspect AS has harmed the state in the amount of Rp.713,800,602 by abusing his authority, managing and using the budget sourced from DD and ADD for his personal interests.

In addition to the complete evidence and information, the detention carried out by his party is to anticipate the suspect from escaping or eliminating evidence. Based on Article 21 of the Criminal Code, investigators detained AS for 20 days at the Warungkiara IIB Prison, Sukabumi Regency while waiting for the trial schedule at the West Java Corruption Court.

"We are still developing a case of alleged corruption by the US suspect, it is possible that there are other suspects if the results of collecting evidence and information (pulbaket) lead to other suspects," he added.

Ratno said that as a result of his actions having harmed the state for his personal interests, the US was charged with Article 2 paragraph (1), Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law No. 31/1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Crimes as amended and supplemented by Law No. RI 20/2001 concerning amendments to Law 31/1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption with the threat of imprisonment for a minimum of four years.
