Komnas HAM Values Commander General Andika Committed To Investigating Human Confinement Cases
JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission of the Republic of Indonesia assessed that the determination of 10 suspected TNI soldiers by the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa related to the human cage case in Langkat Regency, North Sumatra, was a form of the agency's commitment to investigating the case.
"Once again, this proves that TNI friends are highly committed to upholding the law and human rights," said Commissioner of the Indonesian National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) Mohammad Choirul Anam in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 23.
Komnas HAM RI, said Anam, appreciated General Andika Perkasa for naming 10 suspected TNI personnel in the human cage case belonging to the Regent of Langkat, the issuance of the Wind War Plan.
According to him, this is part of one of Komnas HAM's recommendations to the TNI Commander. Because, after the case was revealed, Komnas HAM immediately conducted an in-depth investigation and found the alleged involvement of TNI personnel.
During its journey, the Military Police Center (Puspom) of the TNI also coordinated, investigated, and asked Komnas HAM for evidence regarding the alleged involvement of TNI personnel.
"Puspom TNI asked for evidence and the names of those suspected of being involved," he said.
In the future, Komnas HAM hopes that the legal process against the 10 suspects can run according to legal provisions and run transparently.
Thus, he said, the public, especially the families of victims of human cages, clearly knew the legal process that the suspects were undergoing at the court table.
Then no less important, said Anam, so that the same case does not happen again. Whether it's done by government officials, elements of the TNI, Polri, and so on.
