JAKARTA - The cause of the tourism bus accident in Panumbangan, Ciamis, West Java, which killed four people and injured dozens, must be thoroughly investigated. This is a request from Agus Sukamto (50), one of the victims who survived the accident from Sukamulya District, Tangerang Regency, to related parties.
"We ask for an evaluation from the National Police Chief, the Minister of Transportation down to the lower level regarding the events that occurred, because this concerns the safety of many people," Agus said when met by Antara in Tangerang, Sunday.
According to him, the relevant parties in this case the police must immediately investigate the cause of the accident, so as not to develop issues that are not necessarily true about the cause of the accident.
"If we are the only users, the authority lies with the police and the Transportation Agency regarding this. What is developing now is because the brakes fail, I think new cars don't make sense," he told Antara.
In addition, Agus said, his party hopes that the police can immediately find the whereabouts of the driver who brought his entourage. From the information that developed, the tourist bus driver disappeared while being treated at the Panjalu Health Center.
"Information from friends of the police, the driver doesn't know where he is, so he doesn't know yet," he said.

"The KNKT team must immediately evaluate it because this concerns everyone's safety. Even the President has also warned about this safety. Now there are even more incidents such as what happened in Mojokerto and so on, so it should be re-evaluated together," he said.
