Deputy Chairperson Of The Central Java DPRD Encourages Tourism To Become A Source Of Economic Recovery In Central Java
SEMARANG - Economic recovery through the tourism sector, which had slumped due to the COVID-19 pandemic, continues to be pushed by the Deputy Chair of the Central Java Provincial DPRD, Heri Pudyatmoko. Moreover, a number of tourist destinations in Central Java have now begun to open.
"The pandemic has made various sectors slump, one of which is tourism. Almost all tourist destinations have been suspended for more than two years, but recently several tourist destinations in Central Java have begun to show enthusiasm, with the relaxation of restrictions on community activities, the level of visits has started to rise, " he said in Semarang, Central Java, Sunday.
Heri believes that tourism is one of the strategic sectors that can help improve the national economic recovery. One area that has huge tourism potential is Central Java Province.
In addition to the Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP) of Borobudur Temple, there are a number of tourist destinations that are worth visiting, such as in Temanggung Regency, Semarang City, and Wonosobo Regency.
"In the new normal order to live in peace with COVID-19, the government believes that the main economic sector that can recover quickly is the tourism sector," said the Gerindra Party politician, as quoted by Antara.
According to him, one of the tourist destinations that can be boosted and developed into a super-priority destination by the government is the Borobudur Temple Area in Magelang, so it needs to be worked out well in terms of promotion and service.
"In addition, there is also a need for market expansion and no less important, it is necessary to improve the quality of human resources (HR) in the tourism sector and strengthen the management and governance of destinations," he said.
