JAKARTA - Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, invites the Indonesian people to light the fire of mutual cooperation to quickly rise from the COVID-19 pandemic on National Awakening Day (Harkitnas) which falls today, May 20. This spirit is in line with the theme of the 144th National Harkitnas commemoration in 2022, namely 'Let's Rise Together'.
"Let us together understand the meaning of National Awakening Day by continuing to strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation in building the nation and state," said Puan in her written statement, Friday, May 20.

The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture said that currently the industrial, agricultural, tourism, and creative economy sectors are starting to show positive movements. Therefore, Puan assessed that the spirit to rise should continue to be fueled for the progress of the nation and the welfare of all Indonesian people.
"Thanks to the hard work of all Indonesian people who continue to support each other, work together, we can overcome any tough challenges together," added Puan.
Nevertheless, the chairman of the PDIP DPP asked all parties not to be carried away and to remain vigilant. Puan also hopes that the government will continue to prioritize the element of prudence, including the issue of easing the use of masks.
