Beware Of COVID-19 Cases Appearing Again, There Is One New Patient In Tanjungpinang, Riau Islands
TANJUNGPINANG - The people of the Riau Islands, especially the City of Tanjungpinang. The Riau Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force released new cases in their area.
The Daily Head of the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Adi Prihantara, confirmed that a new case of COVID-19 had emerged in Tanjungpinang City.
"One Tanjungpinang resident has contracted COVID-19, bringing the number of active cases to three", said Adi Prihantara in Tanjungpinang City, as quoted by Antara, Saturday.
With this addition, there are six positive COVID-19 patients in Riau Islands. Apart from Tanjungpinang, there are also three active COVID-19 cases in Batam. However, there were no additional cases in Batam.
"The total number of active cases in Riau Islands is still six people, spread across Batam and Tanjungpinang", said the Riau Islands Regional Secretary.

Currently, five districts in Riau Islands namely Anambas, Lingga, Karimun, Bintan and Natuna Islands have no active cases of COVID-19. Anambas has had no final cases of COVID-19 for more than three weeks, followed by Lingga.
All regencies and cities in Riau Islands are designated as yellow zones or low risk of transmission.
"Hopefully within this week and next week, Anambas and Lingga are designated as green zones", he said.
Adi reminded residents, both those who live in areas with zero active cases of COVID-19 and in areas where there are few COVID-19 patients, to remain vigilant because population mobility has increased after the government opened access to the Riau Islands' entrance.
All elements of society must consistently apply health protocols, especially during activities.
He appealed to the public to support the vaccination program. "For residents who have not been injected with the vaccine, immediately inject the vaccine at the command post set by the government", he urged.
