Bali Airport Serves 343,104 Passengers During Eid Holidays
BADUNG - Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport serves as many as 343,104 passengers on domestic and international routes for the period 29 April-8 May 2022 or for 10 days during the 2022 Eid holiday.
"At the moment of this Eid holiday, there is indeed an increase in the number of passengers and aircraft operating, namely as many as 2,447 aircraft movements at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport," said General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Herry AY Sikado, Wednesday, 11. May.
He said the significant increase in air transport traffic statistics at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali was indeed due to the long holiday supported by the ease of flight requirements according to government regulations.
Of the 343,104 passengers served, 279,079 people were domestic passengers and 64,025 people were passengers on international flight routes, both arriving and departing.
In that period, the three routes from which the most passengers arrived to Bali were dominated by Jakarta with 159,569 passengers, Surabaya with 45,655 passengers and 14,637 passengers on the Makassar route.
"Especially for domestic flights, the highest number of arrivals occurred on May 1 with 18,594 passengers and the highest departure occurred on May 8, 2022 with a record of 19,461 passengers," he said.
As an operator, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport previously had special preparations to deal with this statistical spike.
His party has also prepared an integrated post for Eid transportation that involves internal personnel along with external security elements such as the TNI and Polri with the departure flow of the drop zone area in two locations, namely in the premium parking area and in front of the domestic departure terminal.
"We are synergizing with stakeholders in creating safety and security and ensuring that all facilities function properly during the homecoming period and the return flow of Eid," he said.
