Garuda Indonesia Speaks About Passengers With Disabilities Failed To Fly

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk spoke up regarding a complaint from a passenger with a disability whose seat was taken on flight GA 121 of the Kualanamu-Jakarta route on Monday, yesterday.

Previously, a passenger with a disability expressed his disappointment through his social media account, Twitter.

He failed to fly because the passenger seat that was supposed to be reserved for people with disabilities was actually occupied by another person who was suspected to be an official. The management of Garuda Indonesia also regretted the incident. The state-owned airline also apologizes for the inconvenience experienced by the passenger.

"We deeply regret this incident and express our deepest apologies for the inconvenience experienced by passengers on the flight," the statement said, quoted by VOI, Tuesday, May 10.

Currently, according to Management, Garuda Indonesia is conducting a further evaluation of the incident to ensure that corrective action can be taken to prevent something similar from happening again. "Initially, the passenger had been scheduled to fly on flight GA 189 on the Kualanamu-Jakarta route with priority seats.

However, due to a flight change, the passenger must continue the journey with flight GA 121 on the Kualanamu-Jakarta route.

Then there is an adjustment of flight seat numbers based on the availability of seats on the flight. The passenger has been scheduled to return to flight today using flight GA 121 on the Kualanamu-Medan route with priority seats. "We will also continue to communicate with these passengers and ensure service recovery needs. what we need to fulfill," said Garuda Management.
