Landslide Material Cleaned, Sinjai-Malino Axis Access Can Be Passed

MAKASSAR - Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Sinjai Budiaman said the roads affected by the landslide on the West Sinjai and Malino axes, Gowa Regency, after being cleared of materials and now can be traversed by vehicles, both two-wheeled and four-wheeled. Budiaman said His party together with the Sinjai PUPR Service on the instructions of the Regent Andi Seto Asapa (ASA) have committed to open the access road which is quite busy. "Thank God, the landslide material has been evacuated using heavy equipment. Both two- and four-wheeled vehicles can now pass," he said, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 9.

He explained that the current situation was running normally. The remaining material that makes the road slippery has also been sprayed using a fire engine.

"Since last night, vehicles have been able to pass and starting today it has been running normally," he said. Meanwhile, the quick action taken by the ASA Regent to order his subordinates to send heavy equipment to lift or clean up the remaining landslide material received praise from DPRD member Sinjai Nurbaya Toppo.

The legislator from the Central Sinjai – West Sinjai electoral district expressed his gratitude considering the importance of road access, especially for back-flow travelers who want to go to Makassar.
