Tito Karnavian Allows ASN And BNPP To WFH One Week After Eid Holiday
JAKARTA - The Minister of Home Affairs, Police General (Retired) Muhammad Tito Karnavian, has allowed the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Ministry of Home Affairs and the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) to implement a work from home or BDR system.
The BDR capacity that is applied to ASN within the Ministry of Home Affairs and BNPP is 50 percent while the other 50 percent work from the office or BDK aka WFO.
This BDR alias WFH will be implemented from Monday 9 May to Friday 13 May so that ASN will return to work normally starting Monday 16 May 2022.
Therefore, he has ordered all Echelon I Work Unit leaders within the Ministry of Home Affairs and BNPP to regulate the implementation of the BDR policy internally respectively.
According to him, they support the proposal by the Indonesian National Police Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, regarding the implementation of the BDR policy.
"We support the recommendation of the National Police Chief to reduce the traffic load backflow to Jabodetabek, so the Ministry of Home Affairs and BNPP may WFH 50 percent," he said, in a statement, Sunday, May 8.
Previously, the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform, Tjahjo Kumolo, had also asked all Personnel Development Officers (PPK) to arrange BDR schedules in their respective agencies.
According to Kumolo, the implementation of BDR will not interfere with services, administrative matters, and other government services. The reason is, currently, government agencies have implemented an Electronic-Based Government System. Thus, ASN can work without being limited by space and flexibly through the use of information and communication technology.
Moreover, BDR was also considered a good idea after the ASN and their families returned from their hometowns. This week-long period of BDR can be used as an opportunity for self-isolation. This step is also an effort to prevent the addition of Covid-19 cases due to Eid homecoming.
