PEKANBARU - The Riau Provincial Police noted that so far 6,207 two- and four-wheeled vehicles used by the 2022 Eid homecoming travelers have returned to Riau through all border gates in the area.
Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Kombes Sunarto, in Pekanbaru, Saturday, May 7, said that the volume of return vehicles continued to increase significantly compared to the previous days.
"The volume of backflow increased by 2,727 vehicles compared to the previous day. For Thursday, May 5 yesterday, as many as 6,207 vehicles entered Riau," he said.
He said the largest increase in the volume of backflow occurred at the integrated post at the Riau-West Sumatra border in Kampar Regency, which was 4,232 vehicles, while the backflow through the integrated post at the Riau-West Sumatra border in Kuantan Singingi Regency was recorded at 263 vehicles consisting of 102 two-wheeled vehicles and two-wheeled vehicles. 161 four-wheeled vehicles. The return flow through the integrated post on the Riau-Jambi border in Indragiri Hilir Regency was recorded at 295 vehicles consisting of 138 two-wheeled vehicles and 157 four-wheeled vehicles, while through the integrated post on the Riau-North Sumatra border in Rokan Hilir Regency, there were 417 vehicles, consisting of 132 two-wheeled vehicles and 285 four-wheeled vehicles.
"The peak of the Lebaran backflow is predicted to start today until Sunday, May 8 tomorrow," he said.
