Anies' Subordinates Make Sure School Students Enter Again May 12

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Education Office (Disdik) ensures that there will be no changes to the school entry schedule. Head of the Public Relations Sub-Division of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Taga Radja Gah, said schools in Jakarta will resume teaching and learning activities on Thursday, May 12.

"This is based on the educational calendar that has been set at the beginning of the school year, so there is no change in holidays throughout DKI, as discussed earlier in the educational calendar, April 29 - May 11, 2022," Taga told reporters quoted on Friday, May 6.

Taga explained, in the education calendar, the Education Office issued a letter related to the activities at the end of the even semester of the 2021/2022 school year on January 20, 2022.

"There is no setback, progress. Indeed, that date has been set. From the beginning of April 29 to May 11," he said.

The subordinate of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said this policy applies to all schools.

"There are no setbacks. In accordance with the education calendar plan," said Taga.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) has also issued a policy to increase school holidays in the DKI Jakarta, West Java, and Banten areas for three days until May 12.

Acting Head of the Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Education and Culture Research and Technology Anang Ristato said this policy was taken after coordinating with the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) to help unravel congestion due to the 2022 Eid backflow.

"The Ministry of Education and Culture has responded positively to the results of coordination with the Ministry of Transportation regarding joint efforts to help unravel congestion on the return flow of Lebaran 2022, especially in the Jabodetabek area," Anang said in a written statement quoted on Friday, May 6.

Regarding this policy, continued Anang, the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology has coordinated with the Provincial Governments of DKI Jakarta, West Java and Banten. It is hoped that they will provide flexibility in adding three days of school holidays.
