No Fried Rice, Megawati Chooses To Serve Opor When Prabowo Visits Teuku Umar
JAKARTA - PDI-P General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri did not serve fried rice when Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto visited her residence on Jalan Teuku Umar, Menteng, Central Jakarta, today.
PDIP DPP chairman Eriko Sotarduga said that instead of serving fried rice, which is the favorite of a number of politicians, including Prabowo, Megawati served opor. Because, opor is considered identical to the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
"There was no fried rice. Previously there was no fried rice. For Eid, it should be more special, if Eid is opor, there are shrimp," Eriko told reporters at Megawati's residence, Jalan Teuku Umar, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, May 2.
Eriko said that Megawati's fried rice is often missed. However, this Eid moment is more fitting if you serve chicken opor.
"The fried rice is the most special, but for Eid using fried rice, it's not right, I think, if the people of Medan say a," he said with a smile.
Eriko also confirmed that there would be no political discussion at the meeting of the two figures. Megawati and the General Chair of the Gerindra Party mostly joke.
Both of them, continued Eriko, also often throw jokes at each other. "Because Pak Prabowo and Ibu Mega are actually very humorous," he said.
In addition, he said that the Prabowo-Megawati meeting was actually not planned since. Moreover, Megawati did not hold an open house for halal bihalal.
However, Prabowo was still accepted because he was considered part of the family.
"This is not an open house, only a family. Only limited. So it's not there. Nothing at all (plans to come here, ed)," said Eriko.
"I don't think Pak Prabowo is special anymore. But every Eid he comes. So he is part of the family," he added.
In line with Eriko, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto also agreed that Megawati would not hold an open house. In fact, this is the first time the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia has met other people at his residence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Yes, that's right, during the pandemic, it was (new, red) this time. This was also limited, even from the previous PDIP DPP, it was done online," he said.
Even so, Hasto said that later there would be other figures who would be present at Teuku Umar. However, he has not specified who and when.
"Mrs. Mega is scheduled to receive several guests during the Eid period," concluded Hasto.
