Sad News From Padang, Bus Rolls Up in Solok, 2 Toddlers Killed
JAKARTA - The bus carrying dozens of migrants to "Pulang Basamo" or return to their hometown together, had an accident on Raya Padang-Solok Street, Padang, West Sumatra, Monday morning at around 01.00 WIB.
As a result of the accident, two children who were on the bus reportedly died on behalf of Adzkia (2) and Alif (3).
"In this incident, dozens of passengers suffered minor injuries, and two people died", said Head of the Lubuk Kilangan Police, Commissioner Liya Nesmon, in Padang, as reported by Antara.
The victims have been evacuated from the scene, including passengers who suffered minor injuries to receive medical treatment.
"The injured victims were immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment, the bus carried 32 passengers", he explained.
The bus that was involved in the accident was reported to have brought the group "Pulang Basamo" on behalf of the United Minang Communication Forum, the Air Manis Beach Padang Family.
Nesmon said that the bus accident with license plate number B 7379 CDA did not cause traffic jams in the local area, which is a Sumatran highway.
The accident started when the bus driven by Ridwan (45) drove from Solok to Padang. When they arrived at the scene of the incident, the bus drove out of control and hit a power pole, then flipped over with the wheels on the right shoulder.
"People who saw the incident immediately reported it to the Pam Ketupat Paddy Field Post, and we immediately followed up by visiting the location", he explained.
The local police are still investigating the incident.
