Leaping From Jatinegara Flyover Struck By A Train, A 30-Year-Old Man From Matraman Dies
JAKARTA - A man is thought to have died after jumping from the Jatinegara Flyover to a train crossing on Pisangan Lama Raya Street, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, on Sunday at around 12.00 WIB.
Pulogadung Police Chief, Commissioner David Richardo, said the victim died due to serious injuries after jumping from the Jatinegara flyover, then being hit by a passing train.
"He died when he was hit by a train. Indeed, according to the witness who saw the victim, he jumped from above", said Commissioner in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, May 1.
David added that his party did not know for sure the victim's motive for doing this. "Whether it was a jump or not because it's still under our investigation", he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation at the Pulogadung Police, AKP Heru Sugiarto, said that the bodies of the victims had been evacuated by the ranks of the Pulogadung Police at 14.02 WIB.
Heru explained that the victim suffered serious injuries to his legs as a result of jumping from an overpass and being hit by a train.
