Airlangga Hartarto Invites Workers To Report If You Have Not Received Eid al-Fitr Allowance
JAKARTA—Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto congratulated Labor Day (May Day), May 1, 2022. He emphasized that labor is an important part of the national economy.
According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in February 2021, the number of workers in Indonesia is 139.82 million people. This number increased by 1.59 million compared to August 2020.
"Happy Labor Day to all workers in Indonesia. The government is committed to improving the standard of living of the workers, with various policies that have been and will be issued. Hopefully, this year's Holiday allowance (THR)will not be a problem so that workers can have fun on Hari Raya tomorrow", said Airlangga in a written statement received by VOI, Sunday, May 5, 2022.
Coordinating Minister Airlangga emphasized that the government gave freedom to workers to try and maintain their survival in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of them ensures the disbursement of THR this year.
The General Chairperson of the Golkar Party hopes that workers will be able to enjoy THR on Eid al-Fitr.
"If there are workers who have not received THR, please report to the THR Command Post created by the Ministry of Manpower. The government will follow up on this complaint", he said.
On May Day this year, the Chairperson of the Committee for the Handling of COVID-19 and the National Economic Recovery apologized if Indonesia's condition had not been completely free from the COVID-19 pandemic. Airlangga admitted, that although the trend of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has consistently declined, the transmission has not completely disappeared.
"Please convey your aspirations, please celebrate Eid with your family in your hometown, please pray the Eid al-Fitr prayer, but remain disciplined in prokes. Don't wait until after Lebaran, COVID-19 cases in Indonesia will rise again. I hope that workers will help the government control COVID-19 with a disciplined process", said Airlangga.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy asked people who were going home to take care of themselves and their families. Airlangga sends his greetings to the whole family in his hometown.
"Happy homecoming, stay careful, take care of yourself and your family with prokes discipline. Have fun and celebrate Eid with your family", said the Coordinating Minister for the Economy.
Airlangga admitted that national employment conditions had begun to recover with the unemployment rate dropping from 7.07 percent (August 2020) to 6.49 percent (August 2021).
In addition, data shows that the decline in unemployment was supported by increased employment during 2021 which reached 2.59 million new jobs.
