Homecoming Pillow Seller In Karawang Earns Big Profits Ahead Of Eid Al-Fitr

JAKARTA - Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, the seller of "homecoming pillows" in the Karawang area admits that there have been a lot of buyers since the past week.

"There were sold approximately 50 pieces a day. Last year they sold but it was busier this year. But last Friday the most buyers bought the most," said one of the Ujang homecoming pillow sellers to Antara, Sunday 1 May.

Furthermore, Ujang explained that he had started trading since the middle of the month of Ramadan. The price of the homecoming pillows that he sells varies, ranging from Rp. 30,000 to Rp. 50,000. However, the best-selling pillows are rubber pillows.

“Pillows vary in price. There are Rp. 30,000 to Rp. 50,000. Those who buy are usually motorbike travelers and the best selling is this rubber pillow. The price is IDR 50,000. The problem is that it can be mounted on the seat or on the handlebars, “explained Ujang.

"Fortunately, per day, sometimes Rp. 200,000, sometimes Rp. 100,000. Deposit system. There's a boss. So how much is done, there will be a commission," he added.

If it's not the homecoming season, Ujang usually sells basic necessities at home. However, as a seasonal seller, the homecoming season, especially this year, is a blessing for him.

"When it's not the homecoming season, I usually trade groceries at home. As a seasonal seller, this homecoming season is a blessing to connect my daily life," said Ujang.

"Moreover, this is the season of trouble huh. So selling this homecoming pillow can help my economy too. My hope is that Indonesia will be better and the economy will run smoothly and recover," he concluded.
