Traffic Engineering Is Not Applied In Mataram NTB During The 2022 Eid Holiday

NTB - Head of the Mataram City Transportation Service (Dishub) M Saleh said that there was no blocking or traffic engineering in his area during the 2022 Eid holiday.

"Even though there is no insulation, supervision is still carried out, especially for the COVID-19 health protocol (prokes) at least using a mask," Saleh said in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) quoted from Antara, Thursday, April 28.

He said that supervision at entrances during holidays and holidays with Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri works closely with officers from the Mataram Police. The Dishub team is supportive of the supervision carried out by the Mataram Police.

In addition to the implementation of the prokes, he said, supervision at the entrances to the city of Mataram, such as at Gate Tembolak, Dasan Cermen, Gerimak, Rembiga and Bintaro, was focused on the misuse of transportation means.

For example, a pick-up car that should be used to transport goods is misused to transport people, they will be asked to turn around. "Meanwhile, traffic engineering or lane diversion is done situationally," he said.

Saleh said supervision at the entrance to this year's Lebaran was more relaxed than the previous two years, because last year there was a significant increase in COVID-19 cases.

"This year, the spread of COVID-19 has been very gentle, so the government has given permission for Lebaran homecoming. We just need to be vigilant," he said.

Regarding security, 30 members of the Mataram City Transportation Agency are ready to assist the police in supervising a number of city entrances.

For now, said Saleh, about 30 members of the Transportation Agency are deployed at a number of shopping center points that are considered prone to traffic jams, such as Jalan Panca Usaha, Jalan Penjanggik in the Cakranegara area, Jalan Sriwijaya, Airlangga, and Ampenan.

"Our members focus on monitoring, regulating and controlling the flow of traffic so that congestion does not occur. In addition, controlling parking so that it does not use the road," he said.
