Starring Margot Robbie, Barbie Movie Scheduled To Release July 21, 2023

JAKARTA - The Barbie film is scheduled to hit theaters in the United States on July 21, 2023. The photo of Margot Robbie as Barbie was launched for the first time at the Warner Bros. presentation at CinemaCon on Tuesday, April 26.

In the released photo, Margot Robbie is wearing a blue backless outfit with a polka dot bandana. He sat in the red car with a bright smile.

The release date for the highly anticipated live-action adventure of the iconic doll, played by Margot Robbie in a star-studded supporting cast, was announced Tuesday at a Warner Bros presentation at CinemaCon Las Vegas, as quoted by Variety on Thursday.

This film will compete with the work of Christopher Nolan Oppenheimer, although Barbie already has its own audience market. Apart from Margot Robbie, Barbie also stars Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, "And Just Like That" actors Hari Nef and Will Ferrell.

Directed by Greta Gerwig, who co-wrote the script with her partner Noah Baumbach, production is currently underway for the Mattel Films and WB projects.

Warner Bros. shared a preview of Barbie where Robbie rides in his pink convertible. She flashed a smile and wore a polka dot headband behind the wheel.

Production began earlier this year in London. Barbie is one of many Mattel properties to be adapted into films. Others are Hot Wheels with "Masters of the Universe", Polly Pocket, Rock 'Em Sock' Em Robots, and Chatty Cathy and Betsy Wetsy dolls all in the works.
