Gernas BBI Can Open 2 Million New Jobs, Menparekraf Sandiaga: 90 Percent Of MSMEs
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said that the Proudly Made in Indonesia Movement (Gernas BBI) could create 2 million new jobs. Where, 90 percent of that amount is from micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
"We believe that Gernas BBI will create 2 million new jobs. Of the target of 2 million new jobs, 90 percent is more than MSMEs, so from this business matching we must focus so that these MSMEs get digitization as well as training and assistance," he said in Showcase and Business Matching Second Phase of Government Goods/Services Shopping for Domestic Products, at JCC, Jakarta, Monday, April 25.
According to Sandiaga, Gernas BBI opens opportunities for MSMEs, cooperatives, and business actors to take business opportunities. Because, he said, this affirmative action really favors the purchase and use of domestic products.
"This job opportunity is expected to be a quality job because of the increase in added value in the number of business opportunities that are present and business economic opportunities must be matched," he said.
On this occasion, Sandiaga said at the direction of President Jokowi since its launch on May 14, 2020 until February 2022, Gernas BBI has reached 57 percent of the target of 30 million MSMEs onboarding the marketplace at the end of 2023.
Furthermore, Sandiaga said that if all parties jointly carried out affirmative action on spending on goods/services for domestic products, it would also help stimulate the economy.
"It will revive the economy, increase economic growth to 1.7 to 2 percent," he said.
For your information, according to the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who ordered the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP) to display 1 million MSME products in the LKPP e-catalog by 2022.
