Samsung Fold 4 Will Be Launched In August, Don't Expect An Increase In Battery Capacity
JAKARTA – The latest leaked information about the features of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 has appeared as the schedule for the launch of this folding phone is getting closer, which is expected in August. This latest leak concerns one of the most important specifications of all, namely the battery capacity.
The team at GalaxyClub has seen two phone batteries registered by Samsung with regulators in South Korea. From all the information indicating that this battery will be the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
According to that information, the measured capacity of this Samsung battery is 2.002mAh and 2.268mAh, a total of 4.270mAh. That's almost identical to the 2.275mAh capacity of the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will likely be marketed as having a 4.400mAh battery. The phone maker is promoting what is known as 'typical' capacity, which is greater than rated capacity.
Just a few days ago Tech Radar heard a rumor that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 3. But they have kept the battery capacity the same this year. This will certainly help ensure that the upcoming foldable phone device will be easier to pocket.

There's even talk of a price drop for Samsung's flagship phone. This is certainly something that could contribute to the lower battery capacity. For reference, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 was launched with a starting price of USD 1.799 (IDR 26 million).
A more affordable folding device will certainly be welcomed by consumers. Although it may be disappointing that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 does not get an increase in battery capacity, aka the same as its predecessor.
This is certainly different from Apple, which will launch the iPhone 14 at almost the same time but with an increase in several features including the battery capacity.
