The Surge In Passengers At Merak Harbor Is Already Visible

While the vehicles that passed on Saturday, April 23, there were 372 motorcycles, 2,380 cars, 180 buses, and 2,131 trucks. This figure also decreased when compared to the number of vehicles on Friday, April 22, yesterday, namely 609 motorcycles, 3,598 cars, 293 buses, and 3,428 trucks.
"There was a decrease in both the number of passengers and vehicles that passed last Saturday when compared to last Friday", said Banten Police Chief, Inspector General Rudy Heriyanto, in a statement received by VOI in Jakarta, Sunday 24 April.
The Banten Police also installed 1 Pospam and 1 Posyan in front of the entrance to Pier 6 and 1 integrated post inside Pier 6 at Merak Harbor by the National Police Chief STR No. 344 dated April 20, 2022.

"Personnel performances at Pospam, Posyan, and Pos Terpadu have been by the instructions from the National Police Headquarters and are adaptive to the current situation of going back and forth", he said.
Meanwhile, Banten Police Traffic Directorate, Commissioner Budi Mulyanto, said that the condition of traffic flow on the toll road, especially at GT Cilegon Barat and Merak, then from Cikuasa above and Pos Gerem below, traffic flow conditions were still normal and smooth.
"Officers are ready to serve 24 hours, traffic conditions until Saturday night are still smooth", said Budi.
