Named In Johnny Depp And Amber Heard Domestic Violence Cases, Milani Cosmetics Brand Opens Up
JAKARTA - Cosmetics brand Milani was recently implicated in Johnny Depp's defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard. In court this week, Heard's lawyers claimed that the Aquaman actress took the Milani Conceal + Perfect All-in-One Correcting Kit with her during her relationship with Johnny Depp.
The cosmetics were claimed to be used to cover bruises caused by physical abuse by Depp. Quoted from the New York Post on Saturday, Milani has since responded to the statement by appearing in court.
On Thursday, April 21, the makeup maker uploaded a 15-second video to her official TikTok account to refute Heard's claims.
"You ask us… let the records show that our Correcting Kit was launched in 2017!" wrote the cosmetic brand in the caption of the video which is now viral on TikTok.
"Notice: alleged abuse circa 2014-2016, divorced 2016, makeup palette release date: December 2017," Milani says in the video.
The clip then moves on to Milani headquarters, where a young woman holding a catalog of the company's products, opens to a page describing makeup compacts.
The camera then jumps to a slide that definitively records the product's 2017 release date, meaning Heard clearly didn't use that particular palette during his dealings with Depp.
"We are here to provide the facts of the case," the brand added in the comments.
Quoted from ANTARA, the two actors have been feuding inside and outside the courtroom since they ended their marriage in 2017.
Their explosive trial is still ongoing at Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, which will ultimately determine whether Depp was slandered by Heard's 2018 Washington Post essay.
Johnny Depp, who vehemently denies the charges, is seeking $50 million to compensate for the damage done to his career, plus an additional $350,000 in damages, attorney's fees and court costs.
