KKB Attacks Kodim Task Force Post In Nduga, One TNI Soldier Dies
JAKARTA - The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) attacked and fired at the Mupe Yonif 3 Mar Task Force Command Post in Kalikote, Nduga Regency, Papua. As a result of the attack, one TNI member died.
"This resulted in the death of one person on behalf of Pratu Mar Dwi Miftahul Ahyar," said Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Lieutenant Colonel Kav Herman Taryaman in his statement, Saturday, April 23.
In fact, during a gun battle with the KKB that took place on Friday, April 22, a soldier named Major Mar Lilik Cahyanto was injured. He was hit by a recolset in the shoulder.
For the current condition, Herman said TNI personnel are still on standby in the Nduga area, especially at the shooting location. The goal is to anticipate further attacks from KKB.
"Currently there are no civilian casualties," he said.
Meanwhile, the body of Pratu Mar Dwi Miftahul Ahyar has been taken to the Mimika Hospital by air. Later, the bodies will be flown back to their hometowns.
"It is planned that the body of Pratu Mar Dwi will be taken to Lamongan Regency, East Java Province, on Sunday 24 April," said Herman.
