South Kalimantan Police Chief: Investigation Of Alfamart Collapse Awaiting Labfor Results In Surabaya
BANJARBARU - South Kalimantan (Kalsel) Police Chief Inspector General Rikwanto said the investigation process of the collapse of the three-story Alfamart minimarket building on Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 14 Gambut, Banjar Regency is waiting for the results of the examination by the Surabaya Branch of the Police Forensic Laboratory (Labfor).
"Several samples have been brought for investigation, we'll just have to wait for the results," said the South Kalimantan Police Chief in Banjarbaru, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 22.
Until now, the location of the building debris is still given a police line. Unauthorized parties are prohibited from entering the ruins area.
Rikwanto said that during the examination process the Police Labfor Team had not been completed, so the location was still given a police line so that it was sterile.
"Wait for the labfor team's instructions, if the results are out, then the location can be cleaned immediately so it doesn't become a bad memory for the surrounding community," he said.
The Kapolda also asked his members to provide assistance to the victims who are still being treated at the hospital if needed. Because, according to him, trauma healing is also very much needed for victims in addition to treatment for physical injuries.
"Alfamart's management is already responsible for the treatment of the injured and compensation for the dead," said Rikwanto.
The collapse of the building rented by Alfamart's modern retail store occurred on Monday (18/4) and killed five people and injured eight victims.
