SAR Team Finds Body Of 9-Year-Old Girl Who Was Dragged By Batanghari River Jambi

JAMBI - The joint SAR team found the body of a girl in the Manis Mato area, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province. The nine-year-old boy was reportedly swept away by the current of the Batanghari River on Tuesday, April 19.

Public Relations Office of Search and Rescue (Basarnas) Jambi M Lutfi, the body of the girl named Jihan was found on Thursday morning 21 April.

The joint SAR team then evacuated the bodies of the victims to the funeral home by boat.

Citing Antara, Jihan reportedly fell from a raft made of banana tree trunks and was dragged by the current of the Batanghari River while playing on Tuesday, April 19, at around 12.30 WIB.

The SAR team was then dispatched to the scene using boats and rubber boats to search for Jihan, who came from Teluk Village, Taman Rajo District, Muaro Jambi Regency.

In an effort to find the girl, search and rescue workers combed the watershed and deployed sonar equipment to support underwater search efforts.
