TNI Arrests 20-Year-Old Youth For Bringing Shabu At The Indonesia-Malaysia Border
PONTIANAK - Members of the Pamtas Task Force Mechanical Infantry Battalion 643/Wanara Sakti at the Main Command Post (Kout), West Kalimantan, arrested a young man with the initials Law (20) because he was caught carrying a package of suspected methamphetamine from Malaysia.
"The young man was arrested with evidence of suspected shabu when he was at the zero point of the RI-Malaysia border, precisely in Jagoi Babang Village, Jagoi Babang District, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan," said Dansatgas Pamtas RI-Malaysia Mechanical Infantry Battalion 643/Wns, Lt. Col. Inf. Hendro Wicaksono, in his written statement at Makotis Entikong, Sanggau Regency, Wednesday 20 April evening.
He explained that on Tuesday, April 19, at around 22:45 western Indonesia time, four members of the guard at the Dalduk Kout Post, the Pamtas Task Force led by Serka Imam, stopped Law from passing in front of the Dalduk Kout Post for routine checks.
"After our members carried out a thorough examination, they found a package of about 0.6 grams of methamphetamine in his pants pocket," he said, quoted by Antara.
Then the Dansatgas continued, members of the Dalduk Post together with Customs and Excise personnel Jagoi Babang conducted an examination using a drug detection device, with the result that the item tested positive for methamphetamine.
"From the results of a brief examination of the perpetrators, it was found that the methamphetamine type drug came from Malaysia which would be consumed by itself," he said.
According to the Dansatgas, this is the eighth attempt by the Pamtas Task Force for the Mechanized Infantry Battalion 643/Wns to prevent illegal drug acts in the border areas while serving in the border areas of the western sector of West Kalimantan.
"We have consistently tightened security in border areas by always conducting checks to prevent illegal acts, especially drugs which are very disturbing," he said.
Then the perpetrators and evidence were handed over to the Bengkayang Police for legal proceedings in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
