CILACAP - Cilacap Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Central Java Police managed to secure subsidized diesel fuel from a modified truck. Two suspects were arrested along with the evidence.

Cilacap Police Chief, Eko Widiantoro, said the arrest of the two perpetrators stemmed from information about the scarcity of subsidized diesel fuel in the Central Java region. The report, continued Eko, was followed up by Unit III of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilacap Police which conducted an investigation.

"On Wednesday, April 13 at around 10.30 WIB at the Tiritih Village gas station, Cilacap Regency, officers secured a truck suspected of committing a violation related to the transportation of subsidized diesel fuel", said Eko in a written statement, Tuesday, April 19.

Eko said the truck was covered with tarpaulin. The truck has also been modified by adding a dynamo to pump subsidized diesel fuel into the 4 containers that have been prepared on the tailgate.

The officers then arrested the truck driver with the initials A (37) from Cilacap for questioning his actions.

"A truck driven by the perpetrators was also secured which was filled with 1,000 liters of subsidized diesel fuel", he added.

The results of the investigation, continued Eko, led to a fuel storage area in a warehouse belonging to one company.

In the warehouse, officers found 40 units of containers measuring approximately 1,000 liters in a condition where 2 containers were filled, and 1 container contained about 200 liters (a total of about 2,200 liters).

The officers then secured a person with the initials R (35) from the Warehouse, for further questioning.

"In total, from this incident, the police officers secured evidence of one truck unit, 1,000 liters of Subsidized Diesel fuel, and 4 containers", he explained. full, and 1 container contains about 200 liters (about 2,200 liters in total), 1 blue tank of 8,000 liters empty, and 2 water pumps including hoses.

"The total number of subsidized diesel that has been secured is 3,200 liters", he explained.

Currently, Eko said, the Cilacap Police are coordinating with the Central Java Police to develop a case and investigate the flow of the use of subsidized diesel.

For these actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 55 of Law No. 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas and threatened with a maximum of 6 years in prison and a maximum fine of IDR 60,000,000,000 (sixty billion rupiah).
