Waskita Karya Wins Contract For Train Infrastructure In Medan For IDR 508 Billion
JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) through its business unit, the Building Division, is trusted to build a number of railway infrastructure (KA) in the Medan and surrounding areas. The value of this project reaches IDR 508 billion.
In the contract, Waskita was asked to build the Cross-Medan – Binjai, and Medan – Araskabu (JLKAMB 1) Railroad project with a contract value of IDR 126 billion.
In addition to the railway line, Waskita also won a contract for the construction of the Medan Station Building and Emplacement Phase II (JLKAMB 6) with a contract value of IDR 382 billion.
Director of Operation I Waskita Karya I Ketut Pasek Senjaya Putra said this work project had many challenges, especially in the construction of the Medan City Main Station.
“This Phase II of Medan Station Building and Emplacement Construction is a development project full of challenges because the station is still actively operating. Some of the challenges faced in this work are the location where the elevated track and lower track are actively used," said Pasek as quoted by Antara, Sunday, April 17.

The work is contained in a new contract signed by the Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Building Division, Anak Agung Gede Sumadi with the Contract Signing Officer (PPK) of the Ministry of Transportation, Muhlis Hanggani.
This station is a large-class type B train station which is located on the border between Kelurahan Kesawan (Medan Barat) and Gang Buntu (Medan Timur).
The station, which is located at an altitude of +22 meters above sea level, is the main train station for PT Kereta Api Indonesia Regional Division I, North Sumatra and Aceh, which serves thousands of passengers every day to various regions in North Sumatra.
