Andy Ruiz's Duel Schedule Is A Mess, He Is Forced To Change Opponents

JAKARTA - Andy Ruiz's fight against Tyrone Spong was canceled due to contract issues. This forced the former world heavyweight champion against Luiz Ortiz.

Ruiz vs Spong was announced earlier this week, on Wednesday, but it is now revealed that Ruiz has signed a contract to face Oritz this summer.

"We are working amicably with PBC to ensure Ruiz fulfills his obligations to both parties," said Triller Fight Club president David Tetreault.

"Had we known the PBC had intended to fight him earlier, we would never have chosen this date.

"We enjoy a good relationship with the PBC and we are currently working on selecting the optimal date to reschedule the fight. The date Triller chooses will match the PBC and their calendar."

The PBC heavyweight bout between Andy Ruiz and Luiz Ortiz has been agreed for the end of the summer. Although the exact date is unknown, this will still continue in a few months.

Ruiz last fought in May 2021, beating Chris Arreola in his first bout since losing his heavyweight title to Anthony Joshua.

Since then, he has had knee surgery. While Ortiz won against Charles Martin by a sixth-round knockout in December.
