Erick Thohir Welcomes The TPKS Law With SE Respectful Workplace Policy In BUMN
JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir issued a circular letter to prevent violence and harassment in SOEs in order to welcome the Act on the Crime of Sexual Violence (TPKS).
Erick has issued a circular letter number SE-3/MBU/04/2022 regarding the Respectful Workplace Policy (RWP).
"The Ministry of SOEs is committed to providing a mutually respectful work environment, free from discrimination, exclusion or restriction, harassment, bullying, and various other forms of violence as well as upholding dignity and self-respect, to maintain productivity while working," said Erick Thohir in a written statement, Saturday April 16th.
Erick appreciated the ratification of the TPKS Bill by the Indonesian House of Representatives, considering that it was in line with the main values of BUMN, namely morality, and following up on the National Action Plan for Human Rights (Ranham) in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 53 of 2021 concerning the National Action Plan on Human Rights in 2017. 2021-2025.

In addition, the Ministry of BUMN also pays attention to persons with disabilities, gender equality, and prevents bias and discrimination against women in BUMN, BUMN subsidiaries, and consolidated affiliated companies or BUMN Groups.
He asked the board of directors to give equal opportunities to men and women in occupying all levels of positions in the company. This circular aims to create a safe, comfortable, and harmonious work environment.
"This rule serves as a guide for all BUMN personnel to behave politely and avoid disrespectful behavior, including behavior that will offend, intimidate, embarrass others, various forms of harassment, bullying, and other forms of violence that have the potential to degrade human dignity and value," said Erick Thohir.
In this circular, Erick asked the SOE directors to prepare and implement the RWP within the SOE Group. He admitted that he would not tolerate any act of discrimination, violence, harassment throughout the BUMN environment. The SOE Directors are assigned to prepare strategic and tactical programs in the preparation and implementation of the RWP.
Erick conveyed that the implementation of the RWP includes the preparation of mindsets and awareness, preventive action policies, publications on prevention of discrimination, violence, and harassment, as well as an awareness system for the risk of incidents.
He also asked SOEs to have strategies in handling actions including reporting mechanisms, investigations, handling and assistance, sanctions and support systems such as hotlines, reporting platforms, reporting and investigation formats, preparation of a team of professional assistance and budget assistance.
