Depok Residents Need To Know, Garbage From This City That Is Dumped Into The Cipayung TPA Is Overloaded

JAKARTA - The plan to dispose of Depok's waste to the Lulut Nambo Final Waste Processing and Processing Site (TPPAS) has been delayed again. As a result, the capacity of the Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Cipayung becomes overloaded.

Deputy Mayor of Depok, Imam Budi Hartono said that his party together with PT Indosemen made an agreement to establish a small-scale waste management. This breakthrough will be an alternative, before the garbage in Depok City is dumped into Nambo.

“We made plans with PT Indosemen regarding small-scale waste processing. Hopefully, it can be an alternative even though the capacity is only 100 tons per day," said Imam during a visit to TPPAS Nambo, Bogor Regency, Wednesday, April 13.

Later, said the Deputy Mayor, the 100 tons of waste per day will be converted into Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF). If it is implemented and becomes a business, then, it will be enlarged again until the waste processing capacity becomes 500 tons per day.

“If it is feasible according to business, we can enlarge. Maybe the waste processing capacity can be up to 500 tons/day. The existing money, the plan can be used for land acquisition little by little. This is an anticipatory measure for the current delay in the disposal of garbage to Nambo. We are finalizing it," he said, quoted from the official website of the Depok City Government.

To note, RDF is a waste processing technology through the process of homogenizers into smaller sizes or formed into pellets. The results will be used as a renewable energy source in the process of burning coal recovaring for power generation.
