RI - China Becomes More Friendly At G20, This Time Digital Economy Cooperation Becomes Binding
JAKARTA - The government through the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto welcomed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Indonesia's digital economic cooperation with China. According to him, this is in line with the main agenda in Indonesia's G20 Presidency.
"This shows that various programs in the economic sector, such as infrastructure, food, industrial value added, downstreaming, and metals carried out by Indonesia have similarities with China," he said in an official statement when receiving an official visit from the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Lu Kang, quoted as saying Wednesday, April 13.
Airlangga added that Indonesia expects technology transfer for food commodity productivity in order to encourage agricultural production outside Java, such as in Kalimantan and Bangka Belitung.
"The policy taken is very important to increase food reserves in the midst of the current situation," he said.
On that occasion, Ambassador Lu Kang expressed his country's hopes and support for Indonesia in the G20 Presidency. He said that the discussion of geopolitical issues at the G20 event would be more dominant.

"We want and also hope that Indonesia's G20 Presidency will run smoothly and Indonesia's partnership with China will be stronger," he said.
Ambassador Lu Kang also said that his party was interested in investing in the housing sector in Kalimantan.
"Currently China is trying to overcome poverty. Our government is interested in being involved in investing, especially housing in Kalimantan for industry," he explained.
For information, China is one of the important business partners for Indonesia. Currently, Indonesia's trade value with countries in East Asia reaches 100 billion US dollars.
