Solmet Condemns Violence Against Ade Armando In The Middle Of Demonstration
JAKARTA - Secretary-General of Red and White Solidarity (Solmet) Kamaludin along with all Solmet ranks throughout Indonesia and abroad condemned the violence against Ade Armando during the April 11 Student Demo Action, in front of the DPR Building, Senayan, South Jakarta.
"We strongly condemn the brutal behavior of the gangsters, social media activists, and the chairman of the Indonesian Movement for All (PIS) Bang Ade Armando. Not only did they gang up, but they also stripped naked and shouted murderous words to this UI (University of Indonesia) lecturer," said Kamaludin in a statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 12.
According to Kamaludin, the beating was a very inhumane act, moreover, this beating was carried out by dozens of people, while Ade Armando was alone.
"Fortunately there were members of the police and students who saved his life," he said.
Ironically, said Kamaludin, the violence took place when Muslims were fasting during the month of Ramadan. He is of the view that this behavior disturbs the solemnity of Muslims who are fasting.
"This barbaric behavior is in complete contradiction with the sacred teachings of the Great Prophet Muhammad SAW," said Kamaludin.

Furthermore, Kamaludin also expressed his appreciation to the Police and TNI who have worked hard professionally in securing the demonstrations of the All-Indonesian Student Executive Board Alliance (BEM SI).
