Daan Mogot Guard Post Empty, Dozens Of Students Riding Trucks Allegedly Participate In Demonstration To The DPR Building, Passing Surveillance
TANGERANG - Today, hundreds of students in Tangerang City are planning to hold a demonstration (Unras) at the Indonesian House of Representatives, DKI Jakarta. Based on VOI's monitoring, Monday, April 11, morning, the Daan Mogot guard post, Tangerang, seemed empty, there were no police officers on duty at 08.55 western Indonesia time.
Vehicle activity was monitored as normal, only two transportation service officers were seen on guard. They manage traffic at that location.
At 09.12 western Indonesia time, dozens of people suspected to be students were seen in the truck. It is suspected that the students wanted to take part in a demonstration at the DPR RI Building, Senayan.
Due to the lack of security, the dozens of students managed to escape and went to join the demonstration at the DPR RI later.
Cecep, one of the residents, said that he saw dozens of students who were suspected of holding a demonstration in Jakarta today.
"Yeah, I saw the students, I think they want to take part in the demonstrations in Jakarta," said Cecep when met at the location, Monday, April 11.

Cecep said that if the police only saw 1-3 people. But he left until now has not returned.
"Earlier, there (police) kept going. They said there was an apple at the Resort Police (Metro Tangerang)," he said.
At around 09.33 western Indonesia time, a number of officers came to the guard post on Daan Mogot Street, Tangerang City.
Previously, the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo instructed his entire staff to guard and secure the student demonstrations today with a humanist approach.
This was instructed by the National Police Chief when holding a video conference with all ranks, from the Police Headquarters to the Regional Police and Resort Police ranks.
"National Police provides and guarantees every citizen to express their aspirations or provide space for democracy. Therefore, a humanist approach must continue to be implemented in guarding demonstrations," said Sigit in a written statement, Sunday, April 10.
